EXCAVATIONS, THE new exhibition by leading Irish abstract artist Ger Sweeney, opens at the Norman Villa Gallery in Salthill tomorrow at 6pm.

More than 100 artworks by some of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists, such as John Behan, Joe Boske, and Maria Van Kampen, will go ‘under the hammer’ for charity this weekend.

The Galway Arts Festival returns from Monday July 16 to Sunday 29 and will be officially launched in Dublin this evening and in Galway tomorrow. Below is all that is on during the two weeks and there is plenty to look forward to.

AS THE build up to Cúirt gathers momentum, much attention has been focused on the many writers who will be reading and discussing their work but the festival also features a new exhibition from Brian Bourke, put together especially for Cúirt and running at Salthill’s Norman Villa Gallery.
